Just so there are no surprises, as of last week's episode (#144, January 21 2009), Naruto Shippuuden has entered a new filler: the Rokubi Arc. If I remember numbers correctly (roku), this will be about the six-tails jinchuuriki, so I would expect something akin to the three-tails arc. Enjoy! Or not...

TeamFourStar, the folks who brought us the wonderful DBZ Abridged Series, will be hitting up their first official convention this October in Michigan. That's right, they'll be at Youmacon 2009! Their original Youtube account was removed by Youtube for copyright infringement (most likely) though they displayed a disclaimer in each episode. I won't link to any of the numerous "backups" on youtube, but you can easily find them by searching for either TeamFourStar or DBZ abridged. They are worth checking out! Anyway, watch their , it will at least give you a taste of their skills. |

I just got back from Anime Central, the midwest anime convention in Rosemont, Illinois. It was a blast, and to  those who haven't attended it before, you should definitely head there next year. The dates for that are May 14-16, 2010. I have some footage and plenty of pictures to share, they will be added shortly, and a clip of newly released "Murder Princess" from Funimation, due out in stores tomorrow. It's a six episode OVA that's definitely worth checking out!

 The folks in Japan are going nuts for Final Fantasy, which is not unusual. While this is technically a re-release of Advent Children, it includes several extras, such as 30 minutes of additional footage, a new version of the "Safe and Sound" song, and some versions even include the Final Fantasy XIII demo! So how many copies actually sold? Over 100,000 on its first day - not bad for a revamped version. Those of you waiting to purchase it in the United States will have to wait until June 2, 2009.

This could very well be, or not be a reality. Mandalay Pictures has acquired the rights to the Full Metal Panic light novels. Let me just personally express some frustration with this. There has been no good video game movie ever brought the the big screen, with the exception of Resident Evil. They expect to make something worthwhile out of this? Extremely wishful thinking. These companies need to stop destroying everything they get their hands on. Not exciting news by any means. |

The first half of this week's Naruto Shippuden double-header, The Four-Corner Sealing Barrier (Episode 103) has been subbed and released (officially) on VIZ Media's distribution sites (Joost, Hulu, naruto.com) and, of course, added to our collecetion here at AnimeMi. As VIZ likes to stay one episode behind the latest Japanese airing, we probably won't see their release of 104 for a few days. However, those of you who are resourceful will have no trouble locating the fansubs. |
