Figurine Review List

Haruka, I know very little of her except from that she's from Beat Blades Haruka. I don't know much of that game except that it's the successor to Beat Angel Escalayer. Does it matter if i know where it's from? That depends, I'm sure we've all been in a predicament where we've seen such a beautiful figurine that they've bought it regardless of it's origins. This was such a purchase. I didn't get around in time to pre-order Alter's Haruka, but luckily on my way back home today i happened to stop in one of my local anime/manga stores (Forbidden Planet), and i stumbled upon her. Not just once, but twice, her Alter version and the Kotobukiya version, right next to each other.

There were obviously some differences - straight away you saw the prices tags (Alter $85 and Koto's at $45). You'd think you know which one you were going to walk out of the store with right? Nope. There two figurines have obvious differences and thats in their stature and quality. Alter's variant was very slender and well built. Kotobukiya's on the other hand seemed a tad bit bulkier and had a bit more bust up top, some facial differences and a noticably different body sculpt. One prevailed and that was the Alter counterpart. When I first saw Haruka at HappySoda I was blown away. This was an amazing figure, however, its price tag can be quite restrictive to some. I shot myself in the foot buying it in person and with New York tax. It totaled at 94 dollars. That's quite expensive. Other stores have it in at varying prices from 75-90 dollars, is pretty popular, and selling very quickly. Rightfully so. Who doesn't like a hot chick with daggers? If you're a brunette guy, she'll also probably call right out to you. She's beautiful and the sculpt is done well, as to be expected from Alter. I don't really have much to complain about in terms of the paint, It's well done. One thing that's relatively scary is the fact that she's mounted on one peg. First thing that comes to mind is warping. She's mounted pretty well and I'm relatively confident in saying say that I don't think this will be a problem, but I'm not really one to tell. The base is also relatively large considering there's only one peg supporting her, she will take up more space than a traditional figurine. I'd definitely grab her right away, she's a solid addition to any collection and looks good. Without further ado, the pictures.
