What has Pokemon taught us over the years? There are valuable lessons in both the televised and interactive manifestations of the craze that we all know as Pokemon. We learned about the proper handling and care of animals, how to deal with evil doers, how to diagnose and accept incorrigible perverted friends, how to invest money into your interests, how to put your consciousness on the line with no more than six lifelines, and so much more.

544433552_ed1effe253According to the word of the Pokebible, it is a rule never to carry more than six trained animals at one time, housing them in convenient torture chambers in which, we are to believe, they sleep. Sure, they are fed, bred, and never wind up dead, but do we really know what happens behind the scenes? In a world of animals, with humans being omnivores, it is almost inevitable that Pokemon will be eaten. Can I go to a fine restaurant and order a Tauros steak? Though we won’t mention the countries that participate in such a practice, this is akin to eating dogs. Pokemon are just the multiple variations of the fine canines we have welcomed into our families and trained to be our obedient sidekicks.

brockPokemon is a gruesome world! Human and animal nature will not allow the utopia that we are led to believe exists in Pokemon to exist in reality. We are, however, constantly reminded of the faults of this world. Ash’s best friend in the series, Brock, belongs in a psychiatric hospital. A king among perverts, he is the cartoon representation of the intentions of many viewers whose inhibitions are fully functional. There’s really not much more to say other than his obsession with breeding Pokemon and his behavior has to be some type of classic case in the world of psychiatry.

Pokemon’s solution to evil doers: launch them into the sky.

pokemoneyHow does money work in the Pokeworld? Who knows? Battling trainers left and right, it is second nature to us that if we win, we not only earn experience for battling, but we remove half of whatever money the loser held in his wallet. I say we remove it because supposedly when your Pokemon have all been rendered unable to battle the player loses consciousness. Since we lose half our money when we die, I must assume we only take away half from our victories. We must not question the unwritten rules of Pokemon. It is good to be introduced to gambling at a young age. This way we can justify our addictions later in life!

With your help, we can compile a wonderful list of all that Pokemon has taught us over the years. Comment your ideas!
