After the retreat of Adiane, the Dai-Gurran Brigade decide to interrogate Nia. Nia is too innocent to actually know anything and she flipped the interrogation on them so she could learn a thing or two about the real world. Simone was sitting up on the deck starting at Lagann and Nia approaches him asking if the people hate her, so he tells her the story of Kamina and why the humans fight the beastmen. Adiane returns after given one last chance by the beastman king to eliminate the Dai-Gurren Brigade and the exiled princes Nia.
