Kamina, Simon, and Yoko go hunting to gether food and supplies. While hunting Kamina encounters a best man soldier named Virel. After defeating Kamina and Simon, Viral is forced to retreat do to the sunset but vows to finish the job the next day. When Viral returns in his Ganmen, Kamina and Simon are forced to try something new. They combine their Ganmen creating the two faced ganmen Gurren Lagann and gaining enough power to force Virel into a retreat.
